SnC 182 – Wed 26 August 2009
Fine and quirky music from Las Vegas, Queens, France, Portland Oregon, Newfoundland, Nashville and NYC.Perhaps a slightly different show this week with mercifully less of me. The hops (pic) are ripening nicely on the landing just outside the studio door here at the barn (having climbed up 15 feet or so from the ground). We…

Some wonderfully quirky tunes this week from Iceland, the UK, Virginia, Germany, Toronto, Holland and two from Los Angeles. It was Pimms o’clock when we arrived at Pete Cogle’s hut at Southwold. I have no idea what time we left. Just as it should be.Need Strange – Chad Smith’s Bombastic Meatbats (LA, CA, USA) From Meet…

SnC 180 – Wed 12 August 2009
Music from France, London, Nashville, Liverpool and Cuba and Cornwall in the UK this week.Today was spent visiting the Codger Cogle family at their holiday home in Southwold. The rain this morning cleared as we sat drinking Pimms and eating lunch at their hut right down by the sea (see pic). A tour of the…

A selection of tuneful ditties to delight again this week with tracks from Brooklyn (no surprise there then), Brighton, London, Detroit, Israel, Atlanta, Pennsylvania and The Netherlands.Summer came back today after a month’s break so the apples in the orchard are almost ready for picking, before the wasps get them or passers by stroll in…

SnC 178 – Wed 29 July 2009
Music mostly from the USA this week but with Iceland and Taiwan represented as well. Summer has settled into its familiar UK pattern of rain from mid-July (when schools finish for the "summer"). So nothing special by way of a pic this week. Just pointed the camera out of the barn window and pressed the…

Eastern Europe asserts itself in this week’s show. Even the picture is looking east. It’s Aldeburgh again I’m afraid, looking out to a rather grey North Sea towards Netherlands/Nederland, over on the mainland – a way of putting it that is guarenteed to upset the political right, racists and Little Englanders. :-)Deutsches Essen In Russland…

I’ve been out taking a couple of pics this afternoon for the village produce show. This one used just a touch of HRD (high Dynamic Range) processing. The gulls all seemed to be flying around that particular building – for at least an hour. I hope no-one was trying to record a podcast!Johnny Wise –…

Back in the UK for this week’s show having had a great time in the heat of Ibiza visiting Jessie. The island seems a bit quieter this year but the wall art is rather fine. This pic is just a very small part of a large poster on a wall in the Old Town.We "did"…

Another fine collection of tunes ancient and mostly modern. This week in they’ve come in from Florida, France, California, Utah and Baden-Württemberg, Germany starting with the Canadians this week and a finely crafted hooky pop track just right for the northern hemisphere summer. I’m in Ibiza to visit my daughter Jessie this week some of…

SnC 173 – Wed 24 June 2009
Music from the US, UK, Canada and Taiwan this week. Just putting the show notes together and checking the recording I’m very conscious of the birds outside and the young pigeons who are nesting and tap-dancing in the space in the roof of the barn that was supposed to be reserved for barn owls. I’ve…

SnC 172 – Wed 17 June 2009
There was a spectacular light show last night outside the barn. After heavy rain from dark clouds the setting sun shot its light across the landscape from a very low angle and so created a spectacular rainbow again a dark sky, highlighting the poplar trees in the meadow. Wow! Sometimes it feels quite unreal living…

Delighted to report that I’m back down off the roof. No, I wasn’t expecting to take the trip up their either but magpies have been nesting in the main chimney stack and one of the fledglings fell down the chimney a couple of weeks ago which entailed dismantling the woodburner to release it. They’ve fledged…
