Guitar on Mac seminars – Two free guitarist and Mac seminars in the UK featuring Zutons guitarist Boyan Chowdhury have been revealed.
It’s a particularly attractive offer to Zutons fans: the band’s guitarist Boyan Chowdhury will take part in both seminars.

The events will also explain how useful Apple’s music software products – GarageBand, Logic Express or Logic Pro 7 – can be to music creation. They also look at third-party plug-ins that help guitarists reach that perfect sound.

Attendees will also be bought up to speed on recent developments in guitar technology, including using MIDI guitars to control samples, virtual instruments and synthesisers. The event will also explain how guitarists can use their Macs to share, publish and promote their music. The Birmingham event takes place at Professional Music Technology (PMT), 136 Lawley Middleway, Birmingham, B4 7XX.

The London date will be held at Sound Control, 14-16 Oxford St, London, W1D 1AR.

Kami’s – Cambridge
Upcoming dates

Belinda Gillett – Fall away
A recommendation from John Meed, this Suffolk-based artist deserves a serious listen. A great voice which is sumptuous in combination with the cello played by Kaye. Belinda describes herself:
“I have been singing most of my life, in and out of bands untill I went solo two years ago. I gig regularly in my home county of suffolk, which I love. Now venturing into the depths of London and elsewhere……. Had early success in the biz, doing live tele, radio and making a record. It was great fun but not where I wanted to be. I am passionate about my music and being myself.”

Hachfest – careful how you pronounce it!
A local festival which looks good for a sunny day in the Suffolk countryside on 22 July at Mutimer’s Meadow, Hacheston near Woodbridge. Profits go to St. Elizabeth’s Hospice and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Line-up includes: The Fat Band and The East Coast Blues Band with excellent beer from the Earl Soham Brewery

Second Shift – Bethany
This track is “pop rock with gritty, distorted guitars that give it a touch of punk flavor. Reminiscent of the Foo Fighters, but with more of a party spirit. You can blast this one at the skate park or the pool party you throw the next time your parents are out of town.” Breakthrough Radio
