Listen to Suffolk ‘n’ Cool: exactly how and where you want
You can listen to the show right here on the Suffolk ‘n’ Cool site. There’s a player in the side bar (right) along with a link to a pop-out player which opens in a new, small browser window so you can use to keep listening while you look around or get on with other ‘stuff’. The shownotes page for each edition has its own player too. Our players should work on all devices.
There are lots of great ways to get your weekly fix of Suffolk ‘n’ Cool, wherever you are.
On your computer and MP3 player
As well as the players on the site, there are a whole load of ‘podcatchers’ services (which will automatically download each new edition, as it is published ready for you to listen to whenever it suits.
Best known among these is iTunes (available free on Mac and PC). You’ll need to register an iTunes account with Apple but that’s no great hardship. To subscribe with iTunes, go to the iTunes Store and search for ‘Suffolk’. That should find Suffolk ‘n’ Cool, down in the Podcasts section. Just click on the Subscribe Free button. You’ll just need to confirm your subscription, then you’re done. Of course, you can set up to sync your iPod, iPhone or iPad with iTunes – updated playlists with just the editions you’ve not listened to yet. Very cool.
If you already have iTunes installed this link should do the trick.
Other podcatchers include Juice and gPodder. Podcatcher Matrix has a useful but not very attractive system for comparing different podcatchers.
In my view, iTunes offers all the functionality you need in a user friendly interface, unless you are anti-Apple on principle and wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole 😉
On your smartphone
The future is, as they say, mobile. Smartphones are capable of directly downloading podcasts and there are a number of pretty smooth streaming services. Two which we recommend are:
Stitcher Radio
‘Listen To All Your Favorite Talk Radio Shows and Podcasts in 1 Mobile App – On Demand. Get the freshest episodes of your favorite podcasts and radio shows streamed directly to your smartphone or iPad – no downloading or syncing.‘
Whilst Stitcher is geared towards talk radio. It works perfectly well with Suffolk ‘n’ Cool. Download the app via this affiliate link and we’ll get a small commission. It all helps cover some of our costs!
TuneIn
The TuneIn service claims that you can ‘Listen to the world. TuneIn is a new way to listen to music, sports and news from every corner of the earth, with over 70,000 radio stations and 2 million on-demand programs.‘
You can listen directly online to live radio as well as podcasts and there are free apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry, Palm and Windows Phone. It is visually attractive and offers a pretty comprehensive service.

All of these services want you to extend your range of listening and offer you additional shows, so be sure to bookmark or subscribe to Suffolk ‘n’ Cool so you can find it quickly and easily, wherever you are.
